The latest ThinkPad from Lenovo, the T431s, reflects a slightly more modern design strategy which still meets the company’s standards for ruggedness and durability.

The 14-inch ultrabook sports a thinner profile, with a 1600 x 900 pixel resolution display, as well as the usual array of connectivity features.
The device measures in a 13.30 x 8.89 x 0.8 inches, with a weight of 1.63 kg (3.6 lbs), and is regulated by Mil-SPEC 8 standards for rigidity and durability, alongside Intel integrated HD graphics, 4GB of RAM, a 720p webcam, and a 320GB 5,400RPM hard drive (there are optional upgrades for SSDs as well). The base model comes with a 2.7GHz Intel Core i5-3337U processor, which can also be upgraded to an i7.
Most notably, it also features a revamped trackpad, which eliminates the need for physical buttons, and instead relies on gesture support (of up to 20 different gestures).
Look for the T431s at retail outlets next month starting at $949.
