How To Jailbreak iOS 6.1.3

Apple have released the next update of their iPad, iPod and iPhone operating system to version 6.1.3.
Earlier in the March when the betas were out, it was suggested that jailbreakers shouldn't upgrade to this version should it become live because it patches the exploits used by Evasion to achieve an untethered jailbreak on all iDevices running iOS 6.x.

A little definition will suffice. Tethered jailbreak means that when the device is powered off or run out of battery, one will need to connect the device to the computer to boot up again using Redsn0w
On the other hand, Untethered jailbreak means that if device is powered off or battery runs down, device will boot up normally without the need to plug into a computer nor boot up with Redsn0w

Well, finally, iOS 6.1.3 is out and some people would have failed to heed to warning not to upgrade their devices to the latest version if they intend on keeping their untethered jailbreak achieved in iOS 6.1.2.

All hope isn't lost as some devices can still be jailbroken untethered on iPhone 3GS old bootrom and tethered on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS new bootrom and iPod 4th generation.

Needed Items

Redsn0w 0.15b3
iPhone 3GS, 4G, or iPod 4th Gen
6.1.3 IPSW
6.0 IPSW
iTunes 11

Note: This applies to only pre-A5 devicesSTEPS

Download iTunes 11 if you don't already have it.
If you wish to preserve baseband, follow this link (step 4) for help
Download both 6.0 and 6.1.3 IPSW to your computer via here
Update device via iTunes.
Close iTunes and launch Redsn0w 0.15b3
Click Extras and Select IPSW, make sure iOS 6.0 IPSW is selected
Now go back and click on Jailbreak
Follow the instructions on the screen to enter DFU mode
When properly in DFU mode, Redsn0w will proceed and you will be asked to check some items, check to install Cydia in the options given to you
Once jailbreak is complete, device will reboot and you would be jailbroken tethered or untethered depending on your device

iOS 6.1 Untethered Jailbreak For All iDevices Finally

Its being like a million years just waiting for the announcement that an untethered jailbreak would be available for all devices.
If not for the delay tactics and games that Apple have been playing in the release of the iOS6.1 officially, there would have been a public release of the tool to jailbreak iOS6.1 untethered on all devices.

Apple on Sunday last week released a copy of iOS6.1 but not publicly even though it carries the look and build of the final version the OS. Perhaps, this was done in the hope that the exploit needed for the untethered jailbreak will leak out and then Apple can patch those exploits.
Well, the Evad3rs team (Pimskeks, Pod2g and Musclenerd) are not foolish as to fall for that kind of trick Apple is trying to pull.

According to the team, iOS6.1 appears to be vulnerable to the exploits they are planning on using to jailbreak untethered all iDevices on iOS6.1.
Also, there is also a hint from Musclenerd that this tool could be released on the Sunday, which is the day for Super Bowl.

Provided, all go as planned, then we should be seeing a tool released by the Evad3rs team capable of jailbreaking iPhone 5 and all other devices running the iOS6.1 software.

Release Date For iOS 6.1 Untetherd Jailbreak Tool For All iDevices

Apple has released four betas for the iOS 6.1 and we are awaiting the release of the final and Gold Master version of iOS 6.1

According to the popular hackers (Planetbeing, pod2g, Musclenerd, Pimskeks) working to get untethered jailbreak for iOS 6, substantial progress have been made to get all required exploits needed to jailbreak iOS 6 untethered for both A4 devices and newer devices.
This conclusion is made in the light of recent tweets (images below) of these brilliant hackers.

However, the only reason it's still not released to the public is because Apple haven't released iOS 6.1 yet.
iOS 6.1 should be released anytime from 28th January. Once released, an untethered jailbreak for all devices running iOS 6.x would be released.

In conclusion, the estimated time of arrival (ETA) for the release of untethered jailbreak of iOS 6.x for all devices would be after The Official public release of iOS 6.1 by Apple.
