Famous CyanogenMod developer Koushik “Koush” Dutta has been working on the AllCast app for a while now, and a new beta version is available in the Google Play Store, to users that sign up for it.

The AllCast app lets users stream content from an Android device, Dropbox or Google Drive to a device that has Chromecast-like features when hooked up to a TV, although the Chromecast itself isn’t supported. Even so, AllCast works with a large variety of devices that can stream video including Roku, Apple TV, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Samsung Smart TVs, Panasonic Smart, WDTVs and DLNA renderers.

In order to try out the AllCast beta, you will have to join the ClockworkMod community and then join the beta on Google Play (see Source links below).

Considering that the app is already available from the Google Play Store, even if only in a limited fashion so far, we would assume that the launch of the full app is not too far away, even if Chromecast support will not be included.

Have you tried AllCast yet?
