Google freshens Field Trip app interface, adds new features

Google, through their NianticLabs development team, has released an update to their Field Trip app. The majority of the changes with this latest version involve changes to the user interface to give it a look more consistent with recent Android design style cues.

The app now gives users much quicker access to nearby, recent, favorite and map tabs via a new bottom navigation bar. Users can swipe cards up or down to get to other cards in the stack of locations the app has identified and the left drawer has been simplified to make it easier for users to accomplish tasks.

From a content standpoint, Field Trip now lets users preview content supplied by publishers to get an idea of what they are offering. The app will also let users identify key interests so that results are more suited to what the user may be interested in checking out.
