Reality of 2013 For Apple Users and Technology Industry

Posted by Unknown Senin, 31 Desember 2012 0 komentar
First of all I will congratulate you all by saying a happy new year.
I will go straight to the point by saying that as of 2013 we do know that there is no jailbreak for A5 devices on iOS 6 wether tethered or untethered.
Also, there is only tethered jailbreak for A4 devices running iOS 6. Only old bootrom 3GS on iOS 6 can be jailbroken untethered.
Since September that iOS 6 was released there is still no luck for it to be released for newer devices. There may be mo jailbreak for newer Apple devices running iOS 6 ad its been said that iOS 6.1 IS even more secured than 6.0.1.
Furthermore, as of this writing, Hackulous is no longer existing which means that Installous isn't available to download anymore from Cydia.
Consequently, anyone with a newly jailbroken iDevice won't be able to install Installous on their devices.
Another reality is that www.appttackr.org is also no more functioning and that means that you can't download cracked illegal apps via that channel.
I will like to suggest to you that you should beware of false websites saying that they offer untethered iOS 6 jailbreak for all devices. You are advice to wait for the usual suspects to release the jailbreak officially.
On a concluding note for Apple devices, it seems as though the future of jailbreaking Apple devices is not too certain and you all should look forward for more high tech gadgets like iPhone 5S, iWatch etc in 2013.

For Android devices, we know that rooting will still continue and the Android OS will get even smoother and better. Also devices like Samsung will step up the game even more than before.
We are to expect Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, etc
Furthermore, Blackberry 10 is set to debut for Jan 30th this year.
RIM is poised to compete fiercely in the smartphone industry this year.
I shall not forget to mention Nokia and HTC who all have big things in the works for 2013

In all, we are set for a serious competition in the smartphone market especially with the intended release of Mozilla OS.

In all, we shall all be alive to see how all these unfolds ad the year progresses Happy new year folks and lets look forward to a highly dynamic technology industry.

Hackulous and Installous Has Been Shutdown

Posted by Unknown Minggu, 30 Desember 2012 0 komentar
Installous which is one of the most popular apps for iPhone users created by the Hackulo Team Which has graced the home screen of our iPhones since the first generation of iPhone has shutdown.
Information reaching us today says that installous has shutdown and will not be available anymore. Take a look at the images to see for yourself.
What does this mean for jailbreakers?
It means that those that have cracked applications on their devices may not be able to get updates for such apps through installous.
Also, those that wants to test out an app before making purchase won't be able to do that via installous also.
Furthermore, AppSync for higher iOS' will not be available anymore. In fact, I go on and on to tell you what this situation mean but it will suffice to say that Installous have done well since its creation and have served well. Although, puy0 is somehow trying to be dumb in the excuse he gave ( shown belo)
Guys, Apple would be happy and developers also with these news and these means that 2013 may be very difficult for jaiilbreakers.
Reason for termination as given by puy0:

During all this time I have been actively searching for a lawyer to know how legal we were. Not the lawyer you can find just anywhere, but one that understands Internet legislations and specializes in copyright laws. Trust me, these people are rare, very in demand, and very expensive.

As such I have been looking for three months, and I finally found one recently. Unfortunately our discussion left me sad and even feeling stupid to have invested so much effort into this, and involved people with me… You see, after talking for more than an hour with him, I’m sorry but the conclusion is that what we do would be very hard to defend against in court.

I am at the moment already at risk, and would risk even more with the exposure that an Install0us v3 release will definitely bring me. Call me a coward, but as I said, hiding under covers is not a life for me. Moreover, these days in my country piracy is a hot subject among politicians… I do not want to be flamed in a trial for something that I do as a hobby, and I do not want to involve any people with me in this. I am sincerely sorry to the people who followed me thinking we were legit, my honest mistake.

In conclusion, the Hackulous team have made their impact to the iPhone community and we always know that things don't die without a replacement being born!

How To By-pass Apple's 50mb App restriction When Downloading Apps From App Store Without wifi

Posted by Unknown Sabtu, 29 Desember 2012 0 komentar
If you are like me that sometimes download large files via mobile phones especially from my Blackberry, iPhone and Android phone without wifi, then you would have encountered a scenario where you intend to download a file of 70mb from the Apple App Store but denied.
Sometimes i don't know why there cant be a feature that would allow you choose to restrict or unrestrict download limit. For BB and Android, there isn't no limit but on iPhone you would get a statement telling you that you can't download files larger than 50mb with network data and that you should switch to wifi before you can make such downloads.
The same happens if you choose to download books from iBook Store.
To circumvent this unwarranted limitation placed by Apple, you will need to jailbreak your device and install an app from Cydia. The name of this app is called 3G unrestrictor 5.0.1.
When downloaded from the Cydia, you will need to add App Store to the apps you wish to enable 3G Unrestrictor for. This will automatically select iTunes.
Look below for images of this app.
Once you have added App Store to the list, you can then download your apps.
The same go for iBooks. Just add it to the list.
Henceforth, you can download any app irrespective of the size.

How To Make Your Blackberry Perform Faster

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
Its really annoying when a smartphone lags and hangs. One particular smartphone that have such issue is the Blackberry device. I have used an Android device and am currently using an iOS device and non of this phones hangs and lags like the blackberry device.
While this is an issue from RIM, users also have their own addition to the problem.
Hopefully, Blackberry 10 will not have this issue of lagging and hanging.

However, there are ways to reduce how often this hanging and lagging happens.
Just follow these few tips offered below and you will see considerable change in the performance of your Blackberry device.

1. Phone Logs
Phone logs take quite a good number of memory space. For those that make calls a lot, the problem can even be compounded. This is because call logs stay on their phones like forever. Some even have logs of 3years.
Anyways, take the time to delete your call logs, both missed, received and made calls.

2. Messages
Messages - SMS, BBM, Whatsapp, emails etc takes a good sum of space on the phone too.
This will also impact on  the performance of the device especially when rebooting the device.
When there are too much messages and logs, it will take a longer time to boot up the phone.
So, do away with old text message, BBM messages etc.
For emails, you can choose to only delete from device and not delete the mail completely.

3. Device Logs
Most action performed on your device are recorded just as PCs do.
Some of these logs are error logs in case you have issues with your device and you want to know what the problem is.
However, some of these logs become so outdated and huge and are now taking up space on your.
device.
Clear out this log by going to your home screen, hold the "alt" key and press "lglg". This will take you to an "Event Log" screen. Click the Menu key and select Clear Log.

4. Memory Card
Most Blackberry device comes with 4GB memory card. With the amount of music, videos and picture stored on the memory card, leaving the memory card with only small amount of space will impact negatively on the performance of the device.
Consequently, you are advised to delete pictures, videos and music you no longer value.
Alternatively, you can increase your memory card space to 8GB.

5. Unused Apps
Many apps are sometimes just downloaded on the phone even though they have not seen usage in the past 1 yr. There is no reason for it to be there if you won't use it.
So, if you don't need it or use it in a long time, it is better you delete the app and free up space on your device. At any time you need it, you can reinstall the app again for use and later discard. This way you maximize the limited space and memory available to your device.

6. Upgrade to the latest OS version
This is the final tip. Sometimes, it is usually great to update your device OS to the most recent. This is because bugs would have been fixed and performance would have been made better. When updated, device would perform smoother and battery life may even be extended.
However, if you don't know how to update your OS, give to someone that can. visit www.crackberry.com for more info on OS and updates

When you have made use of all the tips stated above, reboot your device ('alt+right shift+del') and see how fast your device will boot up and also note the performance of the device for a while.

Make do with these tips and lets know what you think

How To Turn Windows Computer To a Internet Hot Spot

Posted by Unknown Rabu, 12 Desember 2012 0 komentar
When Windows 8 preview was released, I immediately tried my hands on few things that I use regularly. Although i was somewhat disappointed that some features that were easy to locate in Windows 7 are now harder to locate. Example is the Safe Mode & Safe Mode With Command Prompt feature.
Another feature that wasn't functioning well is the ability to make my other gadgets browse the internet using my computer's internet connection. However, since the release of the full version of  Win 8, more features have been a challenge to access.
If  you are like me that sometimes share internet connection from your PC to other devices, then there are quite a few apps that allow you achieve this with relative ease. I have tried them and found them useful.

1. WiFi HotSpot Creator
This is a remarkable application that is easy to use. It allows you to share your LAN connection via a wireless hot spot.
The best part it is light and free of charge.
Should you download and launch this, easy to understand instructions would be presented to you that will allow you create your wireless hot spot for your other gadgets to connect to.
It can be installed on Win XP and above.

2.  Connectify
Designed primarily for laptops and mobile users, Connectify lets you transform your computer into a Wi-Fi hotspot you can share publicly or password-protect to limit access. You can share your internet connection with mobile devices, including tablets and gaming consoles, as well as additional computers. One of the great advantages of Connectify is that it allows you to create an ad-hoc virtual network with co-workers and friends, making collaboration and file-sharing a breeze. The free version lacks some features that the $29.95 Pro version offers like the ability to customize the name of the wireless network (SSID), more complete 3G/4G sharing, and technical support.
3. Maryfi
Maryfi is a free and easy to use software router for Windows 7 computers. With Maryfi, users can wirelessly share any Internet connection: a cable modem, a cellular card, or even another Wi-Fi network. Other Wi-Fi enabled devices including laptops, smart phones, music players, and gaming systems can see and join your Maryfi hotspot just like any other Wi-Fi access point and are kept safe and secure by password-protected WPA2 Encryption.
It is also light weight and free to download.

Making your laptop a Hot spot is not a bad idea and would be useful when you need it.

How To Bluetooth Files From iOS Devices to Other Devices

Posted by Unknown Senin, 10 Desember 2012 0 komentar
One of the issues that many users of Apple devices have been plagued with is the inability of their devices to pair and transfer files with other Bluetooth devices from other phone or electronic device manufacturers.
Personally, it sucks to see other phones e.g Blackberry, Android and even old generation devices pair and transfer files while mine is just there looking like zombie.
I still do not understand the reason for the Cupertino company to limit the Bluetooth connectivity from other devices with their devices. Even some have issues turning on Bluetooth on thier iOS devices let alone connect.
However, there had been solutions to this issue that have allowed users to be able to pair and receive files between an iPhone and a Nokia phone, Android device etc.
Below are examples of such apps that have been able to solve these Bluetooth issues.
Note that all these apps can only be found through Cydia and can only work on jailbroken devices and selected iOS versions

1. iBluetooth
This is a good app i used with my first generation iPhone. it worked well, transferred songs, pictures and made pairing with other devices easy.
It only works to iOS 3.1.3 as far as i have tested. For newer devices with newer iOS, it will not run
This means that it wont work on iPhone 4 5.1.1.

2. SweetTooth
This is yet another app like the previous one listed above. It does everything just like iBluetooth and also limited to iOS 3.1.3.
I have not used this before on recommended device, but on iPhone 4 iOS 5.1.1, it will install but it won't work. When launched it will quickly minimize. So don't bother downloading it if you are on recent devices.

3. Celeste
A fine product that have graced the devices of many Apple device users.
It works for any device running up to iOS 4.2.
Although word out there is that it doesn't work on iOS 5.1.1 iPhone 4S.
I haven't personally tried this app on iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1 but i enjoyed it when i was using iPhone 3GS with iOS4.2.
You can get this app for a small price.

4. Airblue Sharing
This is one of the best Bluetooth app out there. It is compatible with iOS 4.2 to 5.x. So if you have updated your device to iOS 6.x then am sorry you can't use this app.
Bluetooth OBEX file sharing for your iOS devices.
Very effective and good application.
You can transfer all kinds of files between different devices and you can also utilize wi-fi to transfer files.
The latest version is 0.9.99 which is very stable.
Head over to Cydia and get this for just $4.99.

Which ever Apple device you own, there is a Bluetooth app that will work for you, except for those on iOS 6 and iPhone 5 and iPad mini users.
I don't know or even believe that Apple users won't have to go through this at the near future.
Which ever way it is, we have always conquered the limitations Apple have always placed on their devices. Thanks to many software engineers out there

How To Minimise Data Usage on A Smartphone

Posted by Unknown Rabu, 05 Desember 2012 0 komentar
Using a smartphone is a beautiful thing. You have so many applications installed, most running in the background.
The ability for smartphones to multitask compared to other phones gives it the superior edge over other kinds of phones. However, this multitask feature has its drawback.
One notable drawback is the consumption of battery power depending on the amount of applications running in the background. Another thing is the consistent usage of internet data plan for notifications, not to mention the bigger screens with brighter backlights and better browsers that these devices are embedded with which consumes battery and data.
Take for example, an iPhone 4 and a Nokia X2. Both devices have the capability to connect to the internet and surf it. However, when you open up say www.facebook.com on the Nokia, it won't display like when you open the same webpage on the iPhone 4. Consequently the iPhone will consumed more data compared to the Nokia phone. On the other hand, browser experience is much more wonderful than the Nokia device.
Furthermore, the battery life of both devices can't be compared at all. Of course, the Nokia device will stay longer because it doesn't multitask per se and the backlight isn't as great as the iPhone.

So, you have 1GB of internet data for a month and you plan to to use your data plan for that month well without it being exhausted before the month is over.
To achieve this, there are tips to follow that could help you achieve your aim. These tips are highlighted below.

TIPS FOR REDUCING DATA USAGE ON A SMARTPHON

1. Reduce tasks running in the background
Smartphones users have the habit of opening many programs on their smartphones. Some of these programs run in the background and are internet dependent. They constantly connect to find information that you may need.
So, kill some of these running apps via the Application Manager. For apple device, just double click the home button and hold app icons until they start to wiggle and then close.

2. Reduce apps that can notify
Smartphones users with larger disk size like 16GB,32GB and 64GB usually install more apps on their devices compared to peeps with 4GB and 8GB HDD.
With so many apps which by default are configured to have access to notifications, they will constantly check the internet for updates, messages etc and will bring in notification to you as they come.
Stop this by going into the notification settings of the device and reduce the number of apps that can notify you.

3. Location Services
Using Google maps or other mapping system in a smartphone consumes quite a lot amount of data.
Consequently, for heavy users of Facebook, Twitter, Waze, Weather app etc, more data will be used when connecting to the internet.
To minimize this, you can go to location settings on your device and manually turn off apps that have access to location services. For Apple device users, go to Settings, Location Services and switch off the apps you don't really need location service for.

4. Browser Type
Some browsers on some smartphones consume more internet data than others. e.g Safari browser, Google Chrome. However, there are others browsers too that consume less data. e.g Opera mini, UCBrowser.
What you can do in this case is to download these internet browsers on your device to connect if you have limited data quota. While some of these browsers will display compressed content fit for mobile use, the feel may not be like using the earlier mentioned browsers.

5. Data Roaming
For some Apple devices, switching of data roaming kills the EDGE or 3G network needed for internet connection.
In the event that you don't need to connect to the internet at a particular time, you can switch off the network needed for internet connection.
To do this, go to Settings, General, Network, Data Roaming.
I believe this is also possible on a Windows or Android device.

6. Push
Push utility is what mail apps use to fetch emails in smartphones. If you set your push setting to be every minutes, more data will be used and even battery drain will increase. This is because the email client will attempt to check the email server for new messages every minute which will utilize your internet data.
Therefore, endeavor to set the fetching of new data to about every 30mins or even 1hr.

Finally, Streaming videos or audios online consumes large internet data. It is better to download the media content unto the device and then watch rather than watching or listening directly. Therefore, refrain from doing this always. It is better to stream media contents using wi-fi.
I hope these tips help someone enjoy minimize  internet data usage on his or her smartphone.

Facebook Acquires Whatsapp

Posted by Unknown Selasa, 04 Desember 2012 0 komentar
There is one thing that Facebook and Whatsapp have in common: They are both social messeaging app that cut across all devices be it Nokia, iPhone, and Android devices.
There is also one thing that they don't have in common: Facebook believes in income generation via ads while Whatsapp do not believe in income generation via ads .

Whatsapp which is one of the apps that have seen positive usage since its inception in 2009 have been able to provide messaging services to countless number of people all over the world. The app doesn't charge a fee for sending text, audio or video messages, because it uses internet connection. One of the beautiful thing about this app is that it doesn't allow advertisement unlike other social messaging apps.
For some devices e.g Blackberry, Whatsapp is free to download while for some devices e.g iPhone it is a paid app. Nevertheless, this small app have continue to rise in popularity and have replaced the usage of SMS for many individuals.
It will be news worthy to note that Whatsapp do not generate income via ads
Whatsapp

Facebook, a multi billion dollar company, is also a success story since it started. It is the number one social media sites in the world. This company have continue to grow exponentially, acquiring various companies e.g Instagram etc to further support their cause to be the leading social site in the planet.
Facebook generate income from ads placed on the website.
With all these acquiring that Facebook is getting, a recent information circulating the internet is the "potential" acquisition of Whatsapp social messaging app by the popular Facebook company.

Facebook
Of course, the two companies involved hasn't said anything yet concerning this rumour. However, there's strong indication that there is an atom of truth in these rumors.
We will just chill for a while to see how true the rumours are.

What happens if Facebook acquires Whatsapp just as they did Instagram? Well, Whatsapp will obviously become a property of Facebook and will still continue to function, more income for the company and of course, users don't really care in as much as the app functions as it has always been.
The important thing is that it should get better rather get worse

How To Fix iPhone 3GS Loud Speaker and Dock Connector If its Not Working

Posted by Unknown Minggu, 02 Desember 2012 0 komentar
Earlier this week, someone brought in his iPhone 3GS to me saying the loud speaker only produces sound when a call comes in. However, when playing music it doesn't function. Earpiece functions well but loud speaker doesn't work.
Right there I checked it and found out that it was the dock connector that had problem. I fixed it within 30 minutes.
This is how I did it below

First, I got my tools ready ( screwdriver, suction cup, replacement dock connector and plunger) and also switched off the device, removed the sim tray along with the sim.
Now, remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the phone close to the dock connector.
Next you place the suction cup on top the screen firmly with one hand while holding the base of the phone with another hand. Now carefully just pull up the suction cup with little force and the screen will come out. The screen is still attached to the logic box via snap cables so DON'T yank out the screen completely.

Next step is to remove all the snap cables securing the screen to the logic board using your plunger. with this done, the screen will come off.
Furthermore, you will need to remove screws about 9pcs including the screw securing the camera before the logic board can come off.
Once the logic board is off, the dock connector can be removed and the replacement inserted.
While inserting the replacement dock connector, make sure it sits well into it's space and secured with it's screws.
Put back the logic board securely and correctly. Screw back board with every screw.
Connect screen to board with the snap cables firmly pressed and clipped.
Switch on device and your audio should be back on loud speaker; Loud and Clear.
